We chase the take.
We're after the take with life in it. Run it. Listen. Try one more. The right one tells you when it lands.

The room matters.
Tone gets shaped before correction does. The room, the instruments, and the signal chain are the foundation a record gets built on.
III.
The song first.
Every choice gets weighed against whether it serves the song. Gear, takes, mixes, all of it. Everything else is in service.
03 · One person, start to finish
Nothing gets handed off.
The person who sets up the microphones on day one is the person who finishes the master. The decisions made while tracking are made knowing how the mix will use them, and the mix is made knowing what the room gave it. No notes lost between engineers, no version of the record that only exists in someone else's head.
That is slower than a production line. It is also how records end up sounding like the band that made them.
04 · Real rooms, real path
A signal path you can follow.
A treated room with monitors that tell the truth, tape in the chain when the record wants it, and a hybrid analog and digital path I designed myself and can walk you through. Microphones that run from a 1930s Shure to modern Warm Audio pieces, chosen per song rather than per spec sheet.
None of this is a judgment on records made in the box. It is what this room has to offer, and it is audible.
